For reloading buckshot used to hunt the Lee Buckshot Mould – 18 Cavity – 00 Buckshot – .330" 53.8 grain is a top choice. This quality mould produces ammunition for a fraction of the cost for a standard trap load. Machined from aluminum the mould is rust resistant but also capable of heating up and cooling down much faster than moulds made from steel or iron.
The mould is much lighter so during extended reloading sessions there is not as much fatigue on the caster. The manufacturer offers weights for suggested alloy but there could be some variance.
